Pharmacy Resident '23
Robert O'Neill
Robert O’Neill graduated from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 2023. He discovered his passion for the profession while shadowing a compounding pharmacist. Throughout pharmacy school, he worked in an independent retail pharmacy where he was able to get to know his patients on a more personal level.
He enjoys the unpredictable nature of his job as no single day is the same as another. Engaging with patients, following their care longitudinally, and witnessing the positive impact that can be made on health is the most rewarding part of his job. Robert is most interested in chronic disease state management, with a focus on diabetes, hypertension, and osteoporosis.
Throughout his residency, Robert worked to implement pharmacist administered vaccinations, an osteoporosis management protocol, and a pharmacist led hypertension clinic. His research focused on pharmacist impact on chronic care management and reducing hospitalizations and emergency department visits.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing the piano, thrifting for oddities and pharmacy antiques, watching horror movies, and cooking his favorite dish, biscuits and gravy.
